Residential / IDD Fill-In Assistant - Boone, NC

Provide residential fill-in and back up services for Group Home Shift Leaders and IDD staff while assuring residents’ health and safety and providing a home atmosphere. Administer medications and support residents in their home with personal care, meals, and daily living skills. Provide positive community integration experiences and related educational activities for day service participants. Implement participants’ goals according to their individual plans. Keep accurate records and documentation of daily activities and progress for each participant/resident as required by applicable standards. High school education and two years of experience in related area or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Need ability to effectively work with adults with developmental disabilities. Background check, MVR check with acceptable driving record, and reliable vehicle required. Full Time, 40 hours per week; 5 days per week at 8 hours per day unless providing fill-in or back up for group home staff. Schedule varies based on fill-in needs. Flexibility and ability to stay overnight required. Community Employment Job Coach - Morganton/Lenoir, NC

Support individuals with disabilities in obtaining a job, learning workplace expectations, and performing job duties in a community employment job. Develop community employment sites and provide on-site training of job responsibilities and appropriate social skills for adults with disabilities. Assess individual interests, natural supports, and skills to assure job placements are compatible with each individual’s needs. Maintain on-going communication and positive relationships between employers, program participants, and various agencies. Need ability to work with adults with disabilities. Must be flexible in work duties and work hours (will include some nights, weekends and holidays). High School Diploma and 4 years of work experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Regional travel required among Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba, counties. Primarily serves Burke County and secondarily serves Caldwell and Catawba. Office located in Lenoir. Background check, MVR check, Driver's License with acceptable driving record, and reliable vehicle required. Assist participants with maintaining employment by providing vocational skills training with a focus on job expectations. Act as an advocate and communicate professionally with other agencies, families, staff, etc. High school diploma, two years of experience in related area, and ability to effectively work with adults with disabilities required. Student Employment Education Instructor / Pre-Employment Transitions Specialist - Available in Buncombe & Yancey Counties

Plan and provide pre–employment services to students with disabilities based off of their needs and interests. Provide job exploration counseling including vocational testing, community job shadowing and sampling, and self-advocacy training. Assist with recruitment of students within the school systems and enrollment into program services. Maintain positive interactions with community agencies (schools, VR, etc.) Assure compliance with all applicable standards and maintain accurate and updated files. Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in a human service related field with 3 years’ experience working with youth in transition related services or a comparable combination of education and experience. Background/MVR check with acceptable driving record, Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required. Job is integral to school operation and student presence; therefore, the use, scheduling, and approval of vacation requests will follow the school operation calendar. Full Time (Monday-Friday day-time schedule) with excellent benefits including Medical, Dental, Vacation/Holiday/Personal paid time off, Retirement, Travel Reimbursement, etc. Position is based out of local High Schools.

Part-Time Positions

IDD Direct Services Instructor - Available in Boone & Jefferson NC

Responsible for assisting individuals with disabilities meet their goals. Provide adaptive skills training, positive integrative community experiences, and related educational activities. Areas include health and wellness such as exercise activities, employment skills, transportation, volunteering, and communication/social skills. Keep accurate records and documentation of daily activities and progress for each participant as required by service standards. Implement participants’ goals according to their individual plans. Act as an advocate and communicate professionally with other agencies, families, staff, etc. High school diploma required, two years of experience in related area preferred, and ability to effectively work with adults with disabilities required. Need ability to actively assist, demonstrate, and participate with participants in varied activities and locations related to service delivery. Background check, MVR check, Driver's License with acceptable driving record, and reliable vehicle required. Part Time, 14-28 hours per week. Hours are Monday through Friday, daytime. Student Employment Education Instructor / Pre-Employment Transitions Specialist - Available in Yadkin & Stokes Counties

Plan and provide pre–employment services to students with disabilities based off of their needs and interests. Provide job exploration counseling including vocational testing, community job shadowing and sampling, and self-advocacy training. Assist with recruitment of students within the school systems and enrollment into program services. Maintain positive interactions with community agencies (schools, VR, etc.) Assure compliance with all applicable standards and maintain accurate and updated files. Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in a human service related field with 3 years’ experience working with youth in transition related services or a comparable combination of education and experience. Background/MVR check with acceptable driving record, Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required. Part-time (Monday-Thursday schedule), 24 hours a week. Weekly hours vary and follow the academic school schedule and calendar year. Benefits include mileage reimbursement, paid time off, and matching 401K Retirement for eligible employees!
